Mission statement

The mission of Hillsdale Public School is to prepare students for the future by setting high expectations for academic achievement and by developing independence in a safe, positive and respectful environment.  This will be achieved by working collaboratively with our community of staff, students and parents.  Our goal is to guide our students to become productive and contributing citizens of society.

Principal’s message

My name is Jayne Krattiger and I am the proud Principal of Hillsdale Public School.

Hillsdale is a small community school that was first built in 1960.  A collaborative partnership between staff and parents/guardians exists to meet the academic, physical, social and emotion needs of our students.  We have an active School Community Council (SCC) that meets monthly to plan fund raising events and discuss ways in which they can support our school; monies raised support Scientist in the School, subsidize cost of bussing for class trips as well as purchasing items that enrich daily school life for our students.  In addition, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program is at Hillsdale PS.  Students in this program attend a specialized language program and are partially integrated in our mainstream classes, bringing another layer of diversity to our learning community.

A true community atmosphere exists here at Hillsdale Public School.

We are the Hillsdale Huskies.
